Just like 2020, 2021 is also going to be an exciting one packed with plenty of exciting titles for everyone to enjoy and some of them steal the show with their promising concepts and hype. Here are the top 4 most anticipated games in line to be released this year.
01. Halo Infinite
This might just be the most anticipated game both new and old-school gamers are looking forward to. Halo has made a name for itself in the FPS genre in the gaming universe and Halo Infinite is the sixth main entry in the series. The game was initially planned to be released on November 10, 2020, alongside the latest Xbox Series X and S but it was delayed to late 2021 for quality improvements. With the delay, fans only have high hopes for this game even though an exact release date is not announced yet. And it is easily the most anticipated game of the year.
02. Resident Evil 8: Village
Resident Evil has been one of the leading titles in the horror game genre and Resident Evil 8: Village will be the tenth major installment in the series. It is also the sequel to the previous title Resident 7: Biohazard. The game recently got even better reactions from fans when Lady Dimitrescu, the antagonist of the game, was showcased in a demo and it is expected to terrify fans with its release on May 7, 2021.
03. Far Cry 6
Far Cry might not be the FPS game for everyone but it sure made itself known in the gaming world with its amazing environment designs and characters. Ubisoft is currently working on its sixth major installment, Far Cry 6, with its released date set to somewhere around Q2/Q3 2021. The game was initially planned to be released on February 18, 2021, but was delayed due to the impacts of the pandemic. The series is known for its remarkable antagonists and the Breaking Bad star, Antón Castillo joins Far Cry 6 as its main antagonist.
04. Returnal
Returnal is the first major PS5 exclusive of the year and it is set to bring a third-person shooter psychological horror video game experience to all fans on the platform. You get to play as Selene who is trying to escape an alien planet filled with various monstrous creatures while being stuck in a time loop. It was first revealed alongside the PS5 during the PS5 reveal stream and the game is set to be released on April 30, 2021.
