PUBG: New State – Everything You Need to Know

Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene created a mod for Arma 2 that reconstructed a similar experience to what he had seen in the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale. Later, this mod became a hit and caught South Korean game studio Bluehole’s attention. Bluehole reached out to Brendan to make his popular mod a standalone game, and here we are today with the legendary PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds franchise. The first game was released back in late 2017 on PC, and it was soon followed by console versions and a revolutionary mobile version — PUBG: Mobile. Even though the player base of the original game has shrunk over the years, PUBG: Mobile has been relevant and growing since its launch. It became the most famous mobile game the world has ever seen, and now the franchise is planning on its next step — a brand new spinoff title called PUBG: New State.

PUBG: New State

PUBG: Mobile was developed and published in cooperation with Tencent Games. However, the upcoming new title, PUBG: New State, is developed and published solely by PUBG Corporation, making it their first standalone mobile title. This upcoming title is set to enhance the already existing PUBG universe by enhancing its lore, bringing in new mechanics, and upgrading the overall look of it to make it feel like it’s a next-gen title. Since the original PUBG creators are developing it, they have the full freedom to experiment and include everything they have planned for the future of the franchise.

PUBG: New State takes players to a futuristic setting in the year 2051. The game also introduces a brand new map named Troi to go along with it of size 8×8 km . The futuristic feel of the game is achieved by its advanced vehicles, weapons, technical tools to assist you in combat, and other futuristic shields and doo-dads. The game plans to give players a taste of how future warfare could look and how the universe has evolved.

Even though all of this new, space-age stuff sounds very exciting, the main feature of the game is its lighting technology, which was marketed as “state of the art Global Illumination-rendering technology.” This new light-rendering technology will push the mobile gaming capabilities to their limits and provide on-the-go console/PC-like gaming experiences on your trusty mobile phone. Not only the visuals, but also the physics and mechanics are said to be pushed to bring out a realistic survival experience.

The game was revealed to the public through a flashy trailer, and no release date was officially announced. However, pre-registration for PUBG: New State was open right after its reveal, and Krafton Inc. and PUBG Corp announced that over 5-million people pre-registered on Google Play alone within a week. The game is sure to be a hit title, following in the footsteps of its older brother, PUBG: Mobile. It will be available for alpha testing starting Q2, 2021.

I’m not sure what this means, so I don’t know how to reword it for clarity.
