Apple just stepped up its game in the smartphone world with the announcement of the latest iPhone 12 lineup at their “Hi, Speed” online event. The online event happened on October 13, 2020, and the latest iPhone really seems promising for an upgrade. Apple not only took the stage to announce its latest iPhones but also introduced a more affordable and compact version of the HomePod smart speaker, HomePod Mini. However, the main attention of the event was directed to the iPhone 12 lineup and it consists of 4 brand new iPhones, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, which will be available on October 23, November 13, October 23, November 6 respectively.

New Features

The main feature of the latest iPhone is 5G connectivity. While the rest of the competition has already been transitioning into and adapting to the next generation of connectivity, 5G, Apple took its time to bring out what is said to be the “fastest 5G phone” in the market. The whole theme of the event has been “speed” and the new iPhone not only brings the fastest connection to most users but also enables the widespread of the technology partnering up with one of the leading carriers in the US, Verizon.

The iPhone 12 also comes with Apple’s latest A14 Bionic chip which they claim to be 15 percent faster and 30 percent more power-efficient than its predecessor. It is also the world’s first commercially available 5nm chip and it packs with a very powerful GPU and a CPU along with dedicated cores for other AI and AR features.

Out of all the features, the fan-favorite addition was probably the new flat-edged design. The new design was heavily praised by many fans around the world as it brought a more flashy look and a nostalgic feel to the iPhone 12 after seeing it last on the iPhone 5s. The design not only uplifts the aesthetic value of the lineup but fascilitates more room and area for the 5G receiver bands for the best connection.

Ships with no charger!

All iPhones in the iPhone 12 lineup seems pretty sweet. However, the environment-friendly measures by Apple have made them not ship power bricks inside the iPhone boxes anymore! This is said to reduce the e-waste made and reduce the pollution made in the whole process of distribution. You can still buy an official power brick from Apple for a ridiculous price tag or opt to a smarter and more affordable choice like the Kokovolta USB Wall Plug Charger which comes with QC 3.0 and support for USB-C cables!
