The talk of the gaming town these days is the newly-announced title in the fan-favorite, first-person shooter series—Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This game is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by the well-known giant in the industry: Activision. Call of Duty has been in the hearts of gamers since the beginning, when FPS games went mainstream. Black Ops Cold War is the 17th installment in the Call of Duty franchise and the sixth installment in the Black Ops series. However, this title is a bit special and different from the rest of the Black Ops titles, as it features an actual crisis that happened in the real world: the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War features an early 1980s setting and a plot inspired by and based on true events that happened during the Cold War. It is also set to feature important places that have relevance to or played a major part in the war, like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters, and more.

Talks about a new Call of Duty game have been swirling since the beginning of this year, as rumors and leaks both confused and entertained fans. Before any official announcements about the game were made, fans had already figured out that it would be a Black Ops title featuring the Cold War. The official announcement of the game was made in a unique and outstanding way: influencers were sent crates hinting that something was coming up, and ciphers were put up for the community to solve. Once everything was solved, the official teaser was published on August 19, 2020, and the official reveal followed a week later, on August 26, 2020. Further details about the gameplay, game modes, and retail editions have been announced and revealed along the way.

The gameplay takes a different approach than the other Call of Duty games, in that players can customize their character and have to make decisions during the game. The decisions gamers make trigger different endings, and this is the first time a Call of Duty game is adapting semi-RPG elements. Fans have already started criticizing and praising these features. Nevertheless, we can all agree that the game is going to be revolutionary! You can get the game in Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition, and a Cross-gen Edition. Pre-orders also get to try out the game earlier, in its open-access beta, as well as score some other sweet rewards. The game is set to release on November 13, 2020. Will you be buying it?
